PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical add/drop device suitable for long distance transmission. SOLUTION: The optical add/drop device is provided with an optical demultiplexer 6 separating WDM signal light into n-pieces of optical signals; n-pieces of first optical switches 8 to which the optical signals outputted from the optical demultiplexer are supplied; and a second optical switch for add 24, which his arranged on the input side of the first optical switches, a third optical switch for dropping 26 which is installed on the output side of the first optical switch 8, n-pieces of regenerators 52 which wavelength-convert the optical signals which pass through the optical switches 8 and an optical multiplexer 10, which carries out wavelength division multiplexing of the optical signal which subjected to wavelength conversion. |
