PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reuse a brush-like member in an image forming device several times. SOLUTION: This method for reusing the brush-like member is used in the image forming device equipped with a contact member, and the brush-like member coming into contact with the contact member by the use of the edge of a pile and rubbing the surface of the contact member. The edge of the pile of the brush-like member is processed to be cut, and the brush-like member after such processing is held at one of holding positions by a holding means having a plurality of holding positions, whereby the edge of the pile after the processing is brought into contact with the contact member.
