PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a medical image reading system with high versatility and expansibility. SOLUTION: A personal computer 4 on the part of a contracted hospital is connected with an image reading center 6 via a network and the image reading center 6 constitutes the medical image reading system of an 'image system' consisting of a DICOM server 10 to store image data from the personal computer 4 and an image reading workstation 12 to read a DICOM image from the server 10 and to display an image to be subjected to image reading and a 'business system' consisting of a business server 11 to store image reading request data and an image reading result file and a business personal computer 15 to perform a display instruction, etc., of a specific piece of the image data to the work station 12.
