<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for realizing intelligent packet transfer utilizing virtual ports specified by the grouping of one or more STS-1 allocated to sources and destination I/O devices (clients) connected to an n×STS-1 SONET network. SOLUTION: A dataflow path for carrying client data is established from one virtual port in a source port to another virtual port in a destination port. The dataflow path is established by notifying each port of the dataflow path, and providing an address for identifying the destination port to the source port, and providing an address for identifying the source port to the destination port.</p> |
