PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the cost of fuel by reducing the power loss as much as possible in the state where the rotation of a belt type continuously variable transmission is stopped. SOLUTION: The belt-type continuously variable transmission is so constructed that a metallic V-belt is wrapped round drive and driven pulleys 5, 8, and provided with a drive side cylinder chamber 6 for applying axial thrust to the drive pulley and a driven side cylinder chamber 9 for applying axial thrust to the driven pulley. This control device of the transmission sets one axial thrust of the drive side and the driven side to a slip preventing thrust and sets the other axial thrust to a change gear ratio keeping thrust in the steady state. The control device further sets the axial thrust of the drive side actuator and the driven side actuator to a slip preventing thrust when the rotation of the drive pulley and the driven pulley is determined to be stopped. |
