PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice machine, in which quality of transparent ice is maintained, while the amount of residual water which is discharged to the outside is reduced by appropriately controlling recycling of residual water resulting form the ice-making by a batch-processing ice machine. SOLUTION: A ice-storing chamber 1 is provided with a water-supply tray 2, an ice-making mandrel 3, a water-supply pipe 4, and a residual-water tray 5 for collecting water discharged from the tray. The ice machine comprises processes of ice-making, discharge of residual water from the tray, and ice removal from the mandrel. Residual water generated in the ice-making process is received in the residual-water tray, and returned to the water-supply tray so as to be recycled for making ice. There are provided between the tray 5 and the pipe 4, a residual water circulation pipe 11 equipped with a pump 11a, discharged-water selector valve 11b, and a supply water selector valve 11c, and a counter 15 which counts number of residual-water circulation. The residual water is reused for making ice in a prescribed number of circulation, and after the prescribed number attained, the recovered residual-water is discharged into a discharge bucket 8.
