PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a belt type transfer member of high durability and capable of obtaining a good color image with less color slippage and scattering. SOLUTION: As for the method for manufacturing the belt type transfer member used for an image forming device for electrostatically transferring a visible image obtained by developing an electrostatic latent image formed on an latent image carrier by developer by applying voltage on the visible image through the belt type transfer member, the method comprises a process of obtaining a cylindrical film by melt-extruding material containing thermoplastic resin through a ring die and a process of stretching the obtained cylindrical film and forming the cylindrical film so that the film thickness may become thinner than the die gap of the ring die and a process of cutting the formed cylindrical film and obtaining a seamless belt whose thickness is 40 to 300μm and whose tensile elastic modulus is >=600 MPa.
