METHOD OF CHROMIUM PLATING FOR FERROUS BASE METAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for applying chromium plating to the surface of ferrous base metal for imparting corrosion resistance and wear resistance thereto without using harmful hexavalent chromium. SOLUTION: Electrolysis plating is applied to a base metal in a plating solution containing at least harmless tervalent chromium and iron, and the base metal is plated with chromium as an iron-chromium alloy.
