<p>PURPOSE: To prevent cooling in a furnace completely by supplying dust to at least one oxy-fuel burner when the disposal of dust is effected in a cupola by combustion/slag production, thereby combusting and producing slag effectively in the melting zone of the cupola. CONSTITUTION: When the disposal of dust is effected in a cupola 30 by combustion/slag production, dust is supplied to at least one oxy-fuel burner 10. More specifically, the oxy-fuel burner 10 comprises an oxygen supplying pipe 11, a plurality of coaxial pipes 12, 13, an introduction holding pipe 14, and a dust supply pipe 15 and it is held by an air supply nozzle 20 through the introduction holding pipe 14. The furnace side opening 16 of the oxy-fuel burner 10 is located in the center of opening 31 made in the wall 35 of the cupola 30. The air supply nozzle 20 is fixed with a water-cooled nozzle 25 to the end thereof opening into a furnace 30i. According to the arrangement, dust is subjected to combustion/slag production efficiently in the melting zone of the cupola 30 and cooling in the furnace 30i is prevented completely.</p> |
