摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high voltage switching device that has a high performance as can be obtained in a small volume, a rapid and steady switching and a compression action that can be realized by low operating energy. SOLUTION: The high voltage circuit breaker is constructed of a first contact means 12 that is driven by a driving mechanism, a cylindrical body 16 that is steadily integrated with this first contact means 12, and a second contact means that is connected dynamically to the cylindrical body by a transmission mechanism 20 having a cam 84, and its mechanism realizes variable speed V2/V1 between the first and second contact points. This variable speed V2/V1 is smaller than 0.5 when the first contact means is closed at the open position and rises to the maximum speed larger than 1.2 as it reaches near the separation position of the contact point, and is again brought back to 0.5 or less as it reaches near the open position. At the initial stage of open position and at the end stage of the open position, when the separation of the contact point in the latter case takes place, the relative speed of the contact point can be made higher at the same time, and the change of this speed increases the pressure.
