PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RF signal output device for VTR which eliminates a need of complicated operation of a changeover switch when connecting the device to an external device like a TV to start using it and is automatically set to a correct idle channel to transmit a received RF signal to the external device. SOLUTION: The RF signal output device for VTR is provided with a control means 23. The control means 23 compares the lowest channel (a first channel) which is read in accordance with the classification of a commercial power frequency by referring to a data table in a memory ROM and can be received in the region with a channel (a second channel) which is first preset by a preset means at the time of search of only several channels from the lowest channel, and the control means 23 also performs such control that an RF modulation part 4 may be set to an idle channel adjacent to the first and second channels by an output channel setting means 9 to output the RF signal of the idle channel from an RF output terminal 5a in the case of coincidence of them but the RF signal may be outputted by the idle channel adjacent to the second channel in the case of non-coincidence.
