The golf club head (10) is connected to a shaft and has one or more weight inserts (11) in the sole (13). The inserts are only disposed in a single area of the sole which is in or as close as possible to the imaginary extension line (14) of the shaft. The head can be aerodynamically shaped so that during the golf swing an additional centrifugal force and/or additional output force is generated.
