The invention concerns an adhesive composition comprising a polymer containing 10 to 100 wt. % relative to the total weight of monomers of at least a water-soluble cationic unsaturated monomer, 0 to 90 wt. % relative to the total weight of monomers of at least a water-soluble non-cationic unsaturated monomer and 0 to 50 wt. % relative to the total weight of monomers of at least a non-water-soluble unsaturated monomer and 0.1 to 20 wt. % water relative to the total weight of the polymer. One embodiment of the adhesive composition is bicomponent.
