An operating device for a motor vehicle function has an operating module (2) and element connected to a control unit and a device to be actuated. The module has coupling plugs and connectors which can be changed in connection to alter the position of the operating module in the vehicle according to choice. An Independent claim also included for a device as above additionally comprising a code system for altering operating positions within the vehicle.
