Method to remove esp. oil from water surface uses variable-speed separator element to separate oil and water between rotary body and guide device

The method is employed on ships, etc. and uses relative movements of a separator element (2), to separate water (3) and pollutants e.g. oil (1). The separator element moves at variable speed, and consists of a continuous component or separate parts. It is extracted from a store and returned into a second store (4) after collection of the oil. Oil and water are separated between a rotary body and s height-adjustable guide device located below the oil. Collected oil is stored in a foldable flexible container (8), which is connected to a buoyancy aid.
