PROCESS FOR PRODUCING POLY ALPHA OLEFIN BY USING HEAT OF OLIGOMERIZATION

PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing poly alpha olefin by using heat of oligomerization, which can produce the poly alpha olefin having a high viscosity index in a high yield by low energy. CONSTITUTION: The poly alpha olefin is produced by reacting monomers such as 1-octene or 1-decene in the presence of ethyl aluminum dichloride(EADC) as a main catalyst and t-butyl chloride(TBC) as a co-catalyst at 20-40deg.C under the ordinary pressure, wherein the ratio of TBC/EADC is 1-5, the molar ratio of the monomers/the main catalyst is 50-200, the catalyst injection time is 1 second to 20 minutes, and the catalyst injection method is controlled.
