PURPOSE: A scroll compressor is provided to increase the strength of a spiral wall of a scroll member, to be easily operated, and not to reduce compressive efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A scroll compressor is composed of a fixed scroll member(12) and a revolving scroll member(13) engaged with spiral walls(12b, 13b). The revolving scroll member is supported to revolve with respect to the fixed scroll member with avoiding self-rotation. The spiral-starting portion of the spiral wall comprises non-stepped portions formed along curves of beta 1-beta 1' and beta 2-beta 2' respectively, and a stepped portion formed along a curve beta 1' and beta 2' that provides a thickness increasing area encompassed by the upper and lower-side curved surface of the stepped portion. A discharge port(25) is located on the end board of the fixed scroll member to partly overlap with the thickness increasing area by partly hollowing the lower side of the stepped portion with a prescribed height.
