A fluorescent image (101) is obtained by irradiation with light of a wavelength for exciting a labelled fluorescent substance. A mask is formed of a foreign matter region image (103) extracted from an image (102) of a foreign matter deposited on an object under measurement obtained by irradiation with light of a wavelength for exciting no fluorescent substance. A fluorescent image (104) of the fluorescent image (101) clear of the foreign matter region is obtained by taking a logical product of the mask and the fluorescent image (101).
