The pilot sequence is heterodyned by data sequences. The complete signal(s) from the transmitted pilot sequence and data sequences are correlated (17) with a reference pilot sequence (RP). The correlation result of one or more preset symbols are subtracted from the actual correlation result for suppression of the pilot sequence and following incoherent members (22), then the max. is determined.
