A disposable pet litter bag (10) including: a bottom (13) wall, first and second sidewalls (16, 19) connected to the bottom wall, a rear wall (22) and a front wall (25) connected to the bottom (13) wall and to the first and secon d sidewalls (16, 19) to form a bag having a top opening (80). The front wall (25) has an opening (30) for the ingress and egress of the pet. The upper en ds of the rear and front walls (22, 25) are provided with a mechanism (35) for detachably connecting the rear and front walls (22, 25), such that the top opening (80) can be secured closed. The bag is configured to be unfolded before use. The bag is further configured to enable the establishment of the bag in an open position by hands inserted through the top opening (80), and to allow the addition of fresh litter through the top opening (80). The bag is also configured such that the top opening (80) is securely closable.
