The transponder (10) has the energy obtained by rectification of the received HF interrogation pulses provided by an interrogation device stored via an energy storage element, acting as the supply source in the transponder transmission phase in which stored information is transmitted back to the interrogation device. The coil of a resonance circuit (26) is used as the antenna for reception of the HF pulses and transmission of the stored information, a controlled switching device (14,16,18,20,22) providing short-term connection of the resonance circuit to the voltage source.
