The present invention encompasses an electronic device comprising a method for displaying a message, which is included in an incoming call request. While the electronic device is in ring phase, the user of the electronic device is notified that a message is included in said incoming call request and given a choice to check the message. If the user checks the message, the user is given a choice to accept the call. If the user was not able to check the message, then the message is stored in memory.
