The standstill control method has the regulation circuit for operation of the electric drive switched into a position holding regulation mode when the required standstill position of the drive is reached. The position holding regulation mode has a rev regulation circuit (2) with a proportional component and a superimposed position regulation circuit (1) with a proportional component and an integral component, the proportional amplification of the rev regulation circuit optimized for the inertial moment of the eletric motor. An Independent claim for a drive control for standstill of an electric drive in a required position is also included.
