PURPOSE: A method for displaying a message in a folder type portable wireless terminal is provided to meet the convenience of a user by confirming the contents of the message through an external front LCD without opening a sub-body of the wireless terminal. CONSTITUTION: A control part checks whether a dual LCD folder type receives a message(300). The control part displays an icon reporting the reception of the message on an external front LCD and an inner LCD, and blinks a lamp(302). The control part saves the received message at a memory part(304). It is determined whether a user opens a sub-body(306). The control part displays the reception time, a telephone number, the contents of the received message at the inner LCD(308). It is determined whether the user requests to display the received message externally(310). It is determined whether the external front LCD is set in a two-line display(312). If two-line display, the control part fixedly displays the reception time and the telephone number, and slidably displays the contents of the received message on the external front LCD(314). If one-line display, the control part slidably displays the contents and then the reception time and the telephone number(316). It is checked whether the user requests to release the external display(318). If requested, the control part displays an original screen on the external front LCD(320).
