<p>A method of routing a fibre optic core (12) in a city to enable data distribution via the fibre optic core (12) is provided. The method involves providing neighbourhood data distribution points (1) and routing street ducts (11) containing tubes (29) from the distribution points (1) along streets. The ducts (11) are broken into at a local distribution point (13) to expose one or more of tubes (29). A user tube (35, 37) then extends from a distribution point (13) to a user's premises. A tube (29) is then cut and connected with the user tube (35, 37). A fibre optic core (12) is then blown in a tube (29) between the local distribution point (13) and the neighbourhood distribution point (1). One of the fibre optic cores (12) is then blown from the local distribution point (13) through the user tube (35, 37) to the user's premises. A distribution network produced by the above method is also provided.</p> |
