PURPOSE: To manufacture batteries efficiently by mass production at low cost with lessened number of parts and to lower the defective rate in a manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: A battery is composed of a case 1, an electrode unite 2 inserted in the case 1, and a sealing plate 4 closing an open part of the case 1. The sealing plate 4 is provided with battery electrodes, an insulation plate, a spacer 7, and a sealing body tub 5 and they are fixed in the sealing plate 4. While the battery electrodes and the sealing body tab 5 are electrically connected, they are insulated from the sealing plate 4. The spacer 7 and the insulating plate are unitedly formed from insulation material and apertures 7A for joining are formed in both side faces of the spacer 7. |
