PURPOSE: A control method and apparatus of a home automation system is to provide the least information to a visitor with a low importance degree and provide the maximum service to a visitor with a high importance degree by differentiating a service for visitors according to the importance. CONSTITUTION: When a visitor depresses a doorbell installed at an outer unit(S402), a corresponding input signal is inputted to a controller of an HA(Home Automation) controller through a door phone. The controller outputs an announcement message according to a pre-set order to the visitor through a speaker of the outer unit(S403). When the visitor inputs a voice about who he/she is to the controller through the microphone of the outer unit according to the announcement message(S404), a voice recognition unit of the controller recognizes the voice(S405) and discriminates its importance(S406). When the importance degree of the inputted voice is determined(S406), a corresponding service is detected and executed from a service DB specifying the service according to the importance degree(S407).
