PURPOSE: A method for adjusting a screen and a sound of a television is provided to enable a viewer to directly input a viewing distance upon viewing the television, so as to automatically adjust the brightness, luminosity, color, and sound of the television according to the viewing distance. CONSTITUTION: A menu key of a remote controller that remotely controls a television is operated(100). A viewing distance setting menu is OSDed(On Screen Displayed)(110). A viewing distance is directly inputted and set on the viewing distance setting OSD(120). Whether to confirm or cancel the directly set viewing distance is decided(130). When confirming the viewing distance, preset optimum brightness, luminosity, color and sound data according to the viewing distance are fetched(140). An automatic OSD screen for the fetched distance, preset optimum brightness, luminosity, color and sound data is displayed(150). A screen and a sound level under automatic adjustment is displayed on the OSD(160). And the adjustment of the screen and sound level is completed(170). |
