PURPOSE: A multi-functional hybrid contactor is provided to achieve an improved performance and reduce cost, while allowing for a system installation having functions of motor start monitoring and protection and contact control. CONSTITUTION: A multi-functional hybrid contactor comprises a breaker(61) and a mechanical contact(69) which are connected in serial so as to control the power being supplied to a motor(70); a driver coil(SM) which operates by a control unit(65), and controls operation of the contact of the mechanical contact; a current transformer(63) for detecting the phase current being supplied from the breaker toward the mechanical contact; a current/voltage measurement unit(64) for measuring the current/voltage of the input power, on the basis of the signal detected through the current transformer; the control unit for suppressing arc generation at the mechanical contact by driving the driver coil and a semiconductor switch unit(66) through a line start method or soft start method, on the basis of the level change of the run/stop control signal input from an external source and the signal output from the current/voltage measurement unit; and the semiconductor switch unit connected in parallel to the mechanical contact and operated by the control of the control unit.
