A rack mountable system unit (1) for racking of electronic equipment includes a housing (10) having first and second sides with first and second elongate plastic slides (550) secured thereto. Each plastic slide is dimensioned to slide within a rack mountable rail (510) and is tapered at one end thereof to facilitate insertion into the rail (510). To further facilitate sliding the slides (550) have narrow portions which reduce friction between the slides and the rails. The slides each have a flange and releasable fixing for fixing a front end thereof to flanges (518) on the rails for securing the housing to the rails and rack. The plastic slides provide a quiet smooth slidable racking system. A kit of parts comprising the mountable unit and rack mountable rails is disclosed. |
