The method involves holding a braking force on at least one wheel of the vehicle in at least one operating state with the brake pedal actuated , irrespective of the degree of pedal depression. If the brake pedal is released the braking force on this wheel at least is increased. The relevant operating state is in effect when the vehicle is at rest and/or when the driver provides a corresp. switch signal.
