The wheel axle is for a rear axle unit which has a connecting rod or coupling rod with two drawn wheel-bearing connecting rods (2,2') linked to each other by a cross bearer (4). A fluid-operated system (5-10) is used to act on the force transmission between the drawn wheel-bearing connecting rods. This has the effect of producing a force (FL,F'L) to act on one of the two connecting rods (2,2') in the direction of travel or in the opposite direction so as to produce an opposite force on the other one of the two rods.
