An electronic transformer for a halogen lamp B comprises a power supply circuit, a voltage divider circuit, a control circuit, inductive coils L1 -L4, a push-pull oscillator circuit Q1-Q4, and a triggering and overload circuit. A full bridge type dual push-pull oscillator circuit consists of a pair of half bridge oscillator circuits combined in a arrangement such that the first and fourth push-pull oscillator transistors are connected to two phase reversed inductive coils, and the second and fourth push-pull oscillator transistors are connected to two phase reversed inductive coils. A bidirectional current limiting diode DIAC is also provided, the output end of which is connected to the bases of the third and fourth push-pull oscillator for simultaneous triggering. A current limiting resistor RX connected in series with an LED may be provided to indicate a variety of faults or abnormal operating conditions.
