A collapsible shelter consisting of a load-bearing structure (1) supporting a tarpaulin (2) and comprising at least two arches (51-54) mutually translatably movable across a base (4) by means of control means (41) from a closely spaced position to a spaced apart position. Said collapsible shelter includes a load-bearing structure (1) of which two adjacent arches (51, 52) are linked via at least one articulated collapsible beam (15) which comprises two adjustable parallelograms (16, 17) connected both to one another on a common side (18), and to respective arches (51, 52) on a side (163, 173) parallel to said common side (18), and means for locking the beam in a deployed position in order to hold the arches (51, 52) in the spaced apart position; as well as means (40, 41) for temporarily immobilising the structure on the base (4) in the erected position.
