The thermoplastic cellular crate (2) for containing bulk food products has a bottom (6) and side walls (7). On the side walls are two notches (8) running from two opposite points on the wall upper face (9) and over its height. The bottom (10) of each notch is rounded. In the crate bottom are ribs forming rupture initiators enabling the crate to be broken into several pieces. A retractable envelope (3) enveloping the crate has a hole located opposite one of the notches and a handle (5).
