The kite frame has a rod (11) with one end inserted into a pouch in the covering. A sleeve is inserted onto one end of the rod. An end cap (13) is rigidly fixed to one end of the rod and positioned in the pouch in the covering. A spring is mounted in the sleeve and comes into contact with the end cap and the rod to absorb shocks. The rod forms the dorsal spine of the delta framework. The rod can be a lateral member of the framework. The sleeve and the cap can be formed of a single part with a smooth exterior face. The spring can be a coil spring.
