PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a white based multiple coating film having a color hardly different from that of an outside plate part and free from see-through on an inside panel part of automobile. SOLUTION: The method of coating the inside and outside panel of automobile is performed by applying an electrodeposition coating material (A) on the inside and outside panel part of the automobile and after that, forming a white multiple coating film on the outside panel part by applying and intermediate coating material (B), a white base coat coating material (C) having the L value of the coating film, which is adjusted to >=8.5 by a titanium white pigment and an aluminum flake, a white pearl tone or silver pearl tone base coat coating material (D) containing titanium oxide coated flake mica powder and a clear coating material (E) on the outside plate and on the other hand, previously applying a white coating material (F) having the L value approximate to that of the coating film of the white base coat coating material (C) and <=30μm white-black covering thickness on the coating surface of the electrodeposition coating material (A) and next, successively the white base coat coating material (C), the pearl tone base coat coating material (D) and the clear coat coating material (E) on the inside panel.
