PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying and separating device which is adaptable for receiving and delivering fragile objects such as flowers of rose, etc., and a method thereof. SOLUTION: This method and device conveys and classifies flowers or other stemlike or slimly elongated objects 9 by means of a conveyer 1 having an arm fork unit 11 which moves along a convey course in a nearly horizontal plane. This method and device, further, takes over the flowers which are nearly perpendicularly suspended by a fork 12 which exists on the end part apart from the conveyer of the arm fork unit at a succession position and conveys the flowers to a device which usually has several constraint stations and bundles the conveyed flowers along the convey course P by means of the arm fork unit which exists on a convey position. Therein, the conveyance is performed on the surface having at least one detector which detects at least one feature of the flowers, thereby, a detection signal is generated and the flowers are successively delivered from the fork to the selected constraint stations.
