PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet printer for printing a blur-free drawing of a plurality of colors or a character clearly. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer comprises a monochromatic print means 200 for ejecting ink drops of one color from a plurality of nozzles 12 arranged in an ink jet head 10, and an overlap printing means 300 for moving and resetting the ink jet head 10 above the print start part on the surface of a recording medium 30 printed with a specified sectional length of a drawing or character every time when the specified sectional length of a monochromatic drawing or character is printed in the X direction on the surface of the recording medium 30 by the monochromatic print means and printing a monochromatic diagram or a character of a different color from a previously printed drawing or character on the surface of the recording medium 30 printed with the specified sectional length of a drawing or character by the monochromatic print means 200 and dried not to cause any blur.
