PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeder capable of preventing the occurrence of noise caused by the vibration of a separating pad without a cost increase even when fed paper is a recording medium with a high friction coefficient such as an OHP sheet. SOLUTION: This feeder has a paper feeding rotating member for feeding the paper, and a separating member opposedly arranged to come in pressure contact with the paper feeding rotating member, and feeds the paper in the separated state by the separating member while feeding the uppermost paper by the paper feeding rotating member. In this constitution, a movement suppressing means is provided for suppressing the movement of the separating member in an almost orthogonal direction to the pressure contact direction.
