PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability of a reverse flange in a suspension arm having the reverse flange formed by pressing a peripheral edge of a metal plate. SOLUTION: A lower arm 11 for an automobile having the pressed metal plate comprises a first horizontal part 15 extending substantially horizontally in a mounted state to a car body, vertical parts 16a and 16b formed by bending the peripheral edges of the first horizontal part 15 downwardly, the reverse flanges 17a, 17b, and 17c formed by bending the lower edges of the vertical parts 16a and 16b inwardly, and a second horizontal part 20 projecting upwardly from the first horizontal part 15 near a car body mounting part 13. The second horizontal part 20 can increase height of the bending center for vertical bending load to increase distance from the bending center to the reverse flanges 17a and 17b, and reduce tension load and compression load applied to the reverse flanges 17a and 17b.
