PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leg end part structure and the use thereof which enable mounting of a protective cap handily and firmly on an open end part of a leg pipe for a desk, chair or the like and conveniently isolating the protective cap easily from the leg pipe in the replacement thereof. SOLUTION: A protrusion part 12 is formed on the internal surface of the open end part 13 of the leg pipe 1 and an elongated retaining part 21 is mounted into the hollow inside 20 of the protective cap 2 so as to be retained onto the protrusion part 12 of the leg pipe 1. A marking 26 is applied on the external surface of the protective cap 2 (the external surface 25b of an outer wall surface part 25) corresponding to the end part position K of the retaining part 21 to indicate a boring point position P that lets the retaining part 21 be crushed from outside to isolate the protective cap 2 from the leg pipe 1.
