PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing utensil excellent in a cap-off performance, which develops no blur through the quick filling of a pen point with ink and with which a favorable wiring performance is realized even when the pen point is left for a long period of time in the air. SOLUTION: This writing utensil 10 excellent in the cap-off performance is formed by coating a pen point 13 made of a fiber wick or a plastic wick with a substance giving cap-off properties. The ink of the writing utensil 10 includes a fluorine-based surface-active agent and/or a silicon-based surface-active agent. Further, a coating agent is a solid at normal temperature and includes a substance having a polar functional group, which brings the solubility to an ink solvent below 5% at normal temperature. |
