PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester sheet manufacturing method capable of manufacturing a sheet or film of high quality excellent in surface smoothness at a high speed. SOLUTION: In a polyester molding method extruding a molten polyester sheet from an orifice like cap and bringing the extrudate into close contact with the surface of a cooling roll to solidify the same, the initial accumulated charge quantity of polyester in a molten state is 2.2-8.5μc/mm2 and the surface wetting index of the cooling roll is not less than 40 mN/m and the center line average roughness of the surface of the cooling roll is 0.01-0.35μm.
