PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved electric parking brake assembly improving efficiency, usable together with a convenient cable system, mountable on the outside of a vehicle, having a comparatively small package dimension, having components of a comparatively small number, having relatively light and drivable manually. SOLUTION: This electric parking brake assembly includes an electric motor 22 having an output shaft 30, a control module 14 for controlling the electric motor 22 and a transmission 24 for connecting a lead screw 40 with the output shaft 30. A drive nut 62 has a lead screw hole 68 for receiving the lead screw 40 by a screw-engagement, a guide shaft hole 70 for receiving the guide shaft 60 so as to slide the shaft 60 and a cable attachment 72 mounted with a brake cable. The cable attachment 72 is deviated from a center shaft of the lead screw 40.
