PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pyrimidine derivative having excellent selectively herbicidal activity. SOLUTION: The pyrimidine derivative is shown by the formula [wherein, R1p and R1q are each H, a halogen atom, a (substituted) 1-6C alkyl, a 1-6C alkoxy, or the like, and may be the same as each other; R2 is a halogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl, cyano, or the like; and Ar is a (substituted) phenyl or a (substituted) condensed heterocyclic ring]. The herbicide comprises the above pyrimidine derivative.
