PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge only the first battery whose inner impedance is small by distinguishing the first battery from the second battery whose inner impedance is large. SOLUTION: In the battery storage box 5 of a charger 1, the first battery 6a whose inner impedance is small or the second battery 6b whose inner impedance is large, both of which have almost the same outer shape to each other, is stored selectively. A microcomputer 8 in the charger 1 calculates terminal voltage fluctuation per unit hour (1 minute) of the first battery 6a or the second battery 6b after a prescribed time has passed since the start of its charging to the first battery 6a or the second battery 6b. If the calculated terminal voltage fluctuation is smaller than a prescribed value which is preset, it is considered to be the first battery 6a, and charging to the first battery 6a is continued. On the other hand, if the calculated terminal voltage fluctuation is larger than a prescribed value which is preset, it is considered to be the second battery 6b, thus stopping charging to the second battery 6b. |
