PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the contamination of rolls in an automatic processing machine during the wet processing of an exposed blue dye-contg. film material by incorporating matting particles of a blue colored polymer in a dispersed state into one or more emulsion layers of an image forming material. SOLUTION: This film material is a photosensitive silver halide film material with one or more photosensitive silver halide emulsion-contg. layers on one side or both sides of the substrate. The emulsion especially contains flat platy silver halide crystals having <0.25μm average thickness and an average aspect ratio of >=2. The photosensitive layers contain matting particles of a blue colored polymer. A blue pigment existing in the substrate preferably has an absorption spectrum matching that of a blue dye or pigment existing in the blue colored palymer. The substrate and the emulsion layers preferably contain the same blue dye.
