PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve porosity of a sintered board, and improve board strength for providing a sintered electrode of a large capacity. SOLUTION: In a sintered board comprising a number of nickel structural bodies 1, each comprising a sole nickel column body, or plural nickel column bodies combined with each other in a V-, cross, or radial form, collected with each other or form a spongy porous body, active material is impregnated to provide an electrode for an alkaline storage battery, where the nickel column body is that having a short axis direction length of 2-30μm, and a ratio of the short axis direction length to a long axis direction length of 1:5-15.
