PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a portable ashtray so designed that sheathing materials in the front and rear of an opening and both the left and right ends of a holding bag are integratedly welded together by thermowelding without breakage of both left and right ends of the opening. SOLUTION: This portable ashtray is made by the following procedure: two synthetic resin sheathing materials 2 of the same shape are each formed so that a strip part 2a on the upper part thereof is foldable toward the inner side of one of the sheathing materials 2, a metallic plate spring 7-holding bag 8 with one side in the cross direction thereof opened is formed using a resin film of nearly the same shape as that of the strip part; the metallic plate spring 7 is inserted into the bag 8, one end rim in the longitudinal direction of the bag is thermowelded on the upper end rim of the strip part 2a and folded and the strip part 2a is bent toward the inner side so as to include the bag and superposed on the inner side face of the upper end of the sheathing material; meanwhile, an inner lining material made of aluminum foil is formed to a bag shape with the top face opened and butted on the inner side face of the sheathing material, and the upper end part of the inner lining material is butted and stuck on the inner side surface of the strip part followed by thermowelding the outer peripheral rim of the inner lining material.
